On the first game, Gregoria failed to show her capability and were forced to lose 11-21. Fortunately, the 2017 junior world champion managed to play better on the second game. This force the match to be extended to the rubber game after Gregoria won the second set by 21-17.
However, on the deciding set, Ratchanok’s performance restrains Gregoria from developing her game. Hence, Gregoria has to admit Ratchanok’s quality after losing the third game by 14-21.
“On the first game, most of my overhead shots were not on point and didn’t make it past her, that way she could easily return my shots with smashes. My anticipation was also slow. Meanwhile on game No. 3, I tried my best to keep up with her but I kept on losing focus during the match,” said Gregoria.
With this result, Gregoria claimed that she has many evaluations to do. “From technical point of view, i think I have done enough, but from gameplay point of view, I think I still have a lot to learn. I have to learn on how to keep my focus on, how to play under pressure, switch between strategies, increase my speed and avoid making unforced errors. I have to work harder,” she added.
