Previously, Tommy gave a convincing result in the first round on Wednesday (3/6) when he scored an upset by stunning China's second seeded, China, Lin Dan.
Admitted by the son of Indonesian living legend, Icuk Sugiarto, that the defeat was due to his low stamina after a hard fought match against Lin Dan.
"My stamina was not as on the level as the previous match because playing against Lin Dan took almost all of it," Tommy said.
"In the first game I could still handle him because my stamina was on the level, but in the second set I actually could win but I was impatient to grab the set, it turned out resulted in errors. In the decider, I was lacking stamina and unable to force myself anymore," Tommy claimed.
"With this result, I have to get over it and prepare for the next tournament," he concluded.
Indonesia previously sent one player in men's singles to quarter final through Anthony Sinisuka Ginting, and still has a chance to send another representative through Jonatan Christie who is currently playing in the second round against South Korean Lee Hyun Il.
