Nothing is Impossible at Senayan

JAKARTA – Anything is possible when it comes to playing at Senayan. That’s the key of success for Indonesian mixed doubles, Alfian Eko Prasetya/Annisa Saufika, who will take on the first seed Zhang Nan/Zhao Yunlei in the quarter final of BCA Indonesia Open Super Series Premier (BIOSSP) 2016.

Alfian/Annisa go to the quarter final after having an easy win from a match with a Dutch mixed doubles pair, Jacco Arends/Selena Piek, in the second round with 21-17, 21-8. This is the first time for them to be in the quarter final at a Superseries Premier level tournament.

Theoretically, Alfian/Annisa’s rank is way below the Chinese pair. But the support from the fans can make the impossible to possible. Their chance is also wide open to give upset by overcoming the world’s #1.

"Zhao has a good front play, solid and not easy to penetrate. We will give what we are good at, no lob and attacking. If they don’t work, we will be all out, giving the best we can," Annisa who was born in Cirebon June 21, 1993.

Annisa added she and Alfian should not be afraid of the Chinese seed since this time the match will be at their home ground and in front of their own supporters.

"We are happy to be in the quarter final, hopefully we can perform better in the next match,” said Alfian who is in the world’s #53 together with Annisa.

The mixed doubles sector still has a chance to send more players to quarter final from Tontowi Ahmad/Liliyana Natsir and Ronald Alexander/Melati Daeva Octavianti.
