JAKARTA - Tommy Sugiarto, the eight seeded player in men's singles was unable to go to the second round of the BCA Indonesia Open Superseries Premier (BIOSSP) 2016 after halted by Hongkong's Wei Nan 16-21, 14-21, Wednesday, (1/6).

Tommy admitted he was performing below par when facing unseeded player. He was not comfortable and he didn't play as he usually does.

"I don't have much time to prepare. Many mistakes that should have not been there," Tommy said in mix zone after the match.

Tommy blamed the tight tournament scheduled as the reason why he was burned out and exhausted. But he said it is one of his responsibilities as a professional badminton player and as a sponsored
player.

BIOSSP 2016 has become the first tournament he participated in since he failed to give Indonesia Thomas Cup 2016 trophy in Kunshan, China, May 22. Eversince, the recovery has not been 100 %.

However, Tommy's focus is not BIOSSP 2016 but 2016 Rio Olympic in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil, August 5-22. Thus, BIOSSP is a part of his preparations to welcome Rio Olympic.

As a result, his defeat at the BIOSSP 2016 becomes his evaluation and lesson to prepare for the Olympic. Stamina improvement and physical strength have to be boosted in order to make Indonesian public proud at the grand sports event in Rio.
