The success of the organizing committee in holding the BCA Indonesia Open Superseries Premier 2017 is appreciated by the World Badminton Federation (BWF) revealed by BWF Event Manager, Darren Parks, shortly after the USD 1,000,000 tournament ended last night on Sunday (18/6).

"The venue shift from Istora to JCC is not easy. This is a challenge, and the Indonesian Badminton Association (PBSI) along with the organizing committee has been able to overcome this. A lot of things we had to agree on such the AC, the schedule change due to Ramadan, and of course the players wanted to finish early, we understand this issue. But the tournament itself, Indonesia never ceases to amaze me," he said.

"With the people who really love badminton, and they know how it all supposed to work, people are friendly, and we are happy to work with them. The final result is interesting, after the Olympics, things have changed a lot, and I can see many new players emerge," he continued.

In terms of achievement, Indonesia also managed to meet the winning a title target in this tournament. Tontowi Ahmad/Liliyana Natsir won the title after winning 22-20 and 21-15 over Zheng Siwei/Chen Qingchen on Sunday evening (18/6).

"For athletes, we set one a title, and it is achieved. Tontowi/Liliyana can finally be champion, it is crucial in terms of coaching and regeneration since we still heavily rely on senior players, we hoped new players would emerge. We had expected Fajar/Rian could do more, but they could not overcome the pressure, they still need to have more experience and flight hours to be able to perform in higher levels," said Achmad Budiharto acting the Committee and Secretary General of PP PBSI who attended a press conference last night, Sunday (18/6).
