Many think the success of the Indonesian mixed doubles, Tontowi Ahmad/Liliyana Natsir, in the BCA Indonesia Open Superseries Premier 2017 is heavily affected by the new venue of the world's best badminton tournament, Jakarta Convention Center (JCC).

This is because ever since they have been paired in 2010 and were able to win several prestigious titles such as the World championships, The Olympics, and The Superseries, this is the first time for them to become the a champion at home.

Since their first participation at the Indonesia Open in 2011 which had been always held in Istora, Tontowi/Liliyana always failed to win. And by the time the venue moved to JCC, they can be the champion.

"It is proven that Istora is indeed "haunted" for me and Owi," Liliyana was laughing in front of the the media crews.

In 2018 next year, Indonesia will host the Asian Games. And it is fat chance the event will take place at Istora. The tournament is Liliyana's next objective. How does she respond to this?

"I still want to play at the Asian Games, and that's my main goal ahead. But of course there are still several tournaments we will participate in before the Asian Games, and if the venue will return to Istora, it will have a new nuance after renovation. We hope we will have new luck in Istora," said Liliyana.
