Tommy Sugiarto, the only remaining Indonesia’s men’s singles player in the quarter final of Blibli Indonesia Open 2018 failed to defeat the Japanese player, Kento Momota during the match that was held earlier Today, Friday (6/7). Tommy was beaten with the score of 11-21 and 15-21.

Tommy, who managed to shock the public on the second round of the tournament after beating the sixth seed from Taiwan, Chou Tie Chen on the match that was held on Thursday (5/7), claimed that he could not show his best performance on today’s match.

“Probably today I have tried my best to fight (Kento). But after my right ankle was sprained during yesterday’s match, I couldn’t show my best performance on today’s match. I know I can’t take this as a reason since Kento managed to play aggressively and with confidence. Moreover, he also played his strategy well by taking long shots against me and that forced me to keep running to return the shots,” said Tommy.

Tommy also claimed that he could feel the pain on his ankle during the game.

“During the game, the pain was still there and that caused me to rely heavily on my left foot as I still can feel the pain on my right ankle,” Tommy added.

This result implies that Kento managed to lead 4-3 ahead of Tommy in the head-to-head statistic between these players
