Alamsyah "King of Sirnas" Yunus Desperately Wants to Qualify to Semifinal

JAKARTA - After succeeding in overcoming Hongkong's Men's Singles, Wong Wing Ki, the Indonesia men's singles who is also known as the King of National Circuit (Raja Sirnas), Alamsyah Yunus, went to the qualifying round to take on India's HS Pranoy.

Alamsyah had to playe three games to defeat Wong Wing Ki beause he applied the improper strategy  so he had to lose the first game which was stolen by Wong with 16-21. Realizing his mistake in applying tactic, Alamsyah changed his style in the second game.

"In the first game, I wrongly set the tempo, in the second game I slowed down the tempo and succeeded," Alamsyah said.

In the third game, he added, the only thing to be done was to keep consistency. In the last game I knew he was done with the match, so I just enjoyed the match and collected points."

Commenting on his next opponent in the qualifying round, HS Pranoy from india, Alamsyah said, "I lost him two times, including when playing at India Open," Alamsyah said.

However, he admitted that his next opponent is a good player in attaking. "Pranoy has a deadly attack, but this victory adds my confidence," he added.

Explaining to reporters after the match, Alamsyah shared his obsession especially at Indonesia Open tournament. "This is the fifth time I participate in Indonesia Open, I want to be qualified for the semifinal, so far, I could only reach round of 16".

When asked about his chance to achieve the target, Alamsyah said that the top 5 and BWF are equal. "Rank 5 until 30 has similar ability, it is only a matter of readiness," he added.
